The name of Chubean was made known to the world since 1981, when historic remnants were discovered.
The Bunun call Chubean ‘Tisau’, mainly due to the Zhuo-Shui river. As the river is winding and the water flows rapidly, the glittering reflections look somewhat like snow in the winter. Another saying is that, the Zhuo-Shui river passes by 7 winding areas.
